At Treats on a Leash, we believe pets are family, and every pet deserves a safe, loving home. That’s why we’re proud to support local and regional pet adoption organizations that work hard every day to rescue, care for, and rehome animals in need.
Our adoption partnerships look a little different depending on the organization and their needs, but the goal is always the same: to help pets and the people who care for them.
Supporting Local Rescue Efforts
We partner with various pet adoption and rescue organizations throughout the area by collecting cash donations in store and donating those funds to organizations that support pets in need. These donations help provide food, supplies, medical care, shelter, and other essential resources for animals waiting for their forever homes.
We have also supported local groups through product donations, event partnerships, and community outreach. Over the years, we’ve partnered with organizations such as RAGOM, Safe Paws, the Ames Animal Shelter, and others who share our commitment to helping pets find loving homes.
Donating Food, Supplies, and More
In addition to collecting donations, we also donate pet food and accessories to Bailing Out Benji to help support their advocacy and rescue-related work.
We also find practical ways to reduce waste while helping local organizations. For example, we donate spare styrofoam coolers to the Boone County Humane Society, where they can be reused for animal care, transport, or other shelter needs.

When you shop with us, you’re supporting a locally owned business that gives back to the pet community. You can also help by contributing to our in-store donation efforts, participating in adoption-related events, or supporting the rescue organizations we partner with directly.
